DESCRIPTION

The windshield wiper ECU receives the HI position signal of the wiper switch to operate the wiper motor at HI speed. Even if the ECU malfunctions, its circuit structure enables it to operate the wiper in HI operation mode.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the windshield wiper switch.

OK:

Wiper switch operates.

NG -- INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH

OK -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER ECU Removal

2. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH

(a) Disconnect or remove the switch Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH - WINDSHIELD WIPER ECU)

(a) Disconnect the E16 switch connector.





(b) Disconnect the E83 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
