INTRODUCTION:
Some vehicles may exhibit a MIL "ON" condition with one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs):
- P261B - Engine Coolant Pump "B" Control Malfunction
- P261C - Engine Coolant Pump "B" Control Circuit Low
Improvements have been made to the electric water pump to correct this condition.

This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown.

REQUIRED TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:

NOTE:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Using ETAS Techstream, check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
2. Are DTCs P261B or P261C present?
- YES - Continue to step 3.
- NO - Diagnose other DTC(s) first.

3. Disconnect the water pump assembly connector.
4. Turn the power switch ON (IG).
5. Measure the voltage at D13-1 to body ground.
6. Is there battery voltage?
- YES - Go to step 7.
- NO - This TSB does NOT apply. Refer to the Repair Manual for additional diagnostics.

7. Replace the electric water pump.
