B2281 - "P" Signal Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

DTC B2281 is stored when the circuit between the main body ECU and shift lock control ECU is abnormal.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU)

(a) Disconnect the E15 main body ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the E39 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU

(a) Temporarily replace the shift lock control ECU with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the engine starts normally.

OK:

Engine starts normally.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)

OK -- END (SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU IS DEFECTIVE)
