2AR-FE STARTING: SMART KEY SYSTEM: B2287,B2289: LIN Communication Master Malfunction


DESCRIPTION

DTC B2287 is stored when the LIN communication circuit between the main body ECU and certification ECU is abnormal. DTC B2289 is stored when there is a malfunction in the immobiliser system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - CERTIFICATION ECU)

(a) Disconnect the ID instrument panel junction block connector.





(b) Disconnect the E84 certification ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU

(a) Temporarily replace the ECU aggregation box (certification ECU) with a new one Removal.

NOTICE:
When replacing the certification ECU, registration procedures must be performed according to the "Registration" section Engine Immobiliser System (W/ Smart Key System).

(b) Check for DTCs again.

OK:

No DTC is output.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)

OK -- END (CERTIFICATION ECU IS DEFECTIVE)
