DESCRIPTION

When the lock switch built into the front door outside handle (for passenger side) in turned on, a lock switch ON signal is transmitted to the certification ECU, and a request signal is then transmitted to both the indoor electrical key oscillator and door electrical key oscillator by the certification ECU. Upon receipt of the request signal, the electrical key transmitter transmits an ID code to the certification ECU. When the certification ECU recognizes that the key is not in the cabin and is outside the vehicle, a door lock signal is transmitted to the main body ECU, causing all the doors to be locked.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream ON.

(c) By following the Techstream screen display, check whether any DTCs are output.

OK:

No DTC output.

2. CHECK MANUAL DOOR LOCK OPERATION

(a) Check that all the doors lock when the door control switch (for manual operation) is turned to LOCK and all doors unlock when turned to UNLOCK.

OK:

All doors can be locked and unlocked with door control switch.

NG -- Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM Operation Check
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL OPERATION

(a) Check that the wireless door lock and unlock functions operate normally Operation Check.

OK:

Wireless door lock and unlock functions operate normally.

NG -- Go to WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ Smart Key System) Operation Check
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LOCK SWITCH)

(a) Check the Data List to confirm the operation of the door lock switch.

On Techstream screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

NG -- INSPECT FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE (for Passenger Side)
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK ECU AGGREGATION BOX (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the ECU aggregation box (certification ECU) with a new or normally functioning one Removal.

(b) Check that the entry lock function operates normally Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

OK:

Entry lock function operates normally.

NG -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK (MAIN BODY ECU)

OK -- END (CERTIFICATION ECU IS DEFECTIVE)

6. INSPECT FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE (for Passenger Side)





(a) Disconnect the front door outside handle (for passenger side) connector.

(b) Measure the resistance between the terminals when the trigger switch is operated.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY (for Passenger Side) Removal

OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
