Reassembly

EXTERIOR: FRONT BUMPER (w/ Under Guard): REASSEMBLY

HINT
A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart Standard Bolt - Specified Torque For Standard Bolts.

1. INSTALL FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Attach the 2 guides to install the fog light.

(b) Install the screw.

2. INSTALL FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Use the procedure described for the LH side.

3. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER HOLE COVER LH

(a) Attach the 4 claws to install the bumper hole cover.

4. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER HOLE COVER RH

HINT
Use the procedure described for the LH side.

5. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION MOUNTING BRACKET

(a) Make holes in the bumper cover for the license plate installation bolts.

HINT
Only perform this procedure if installing the license plate on a new bumper cover.

(1) Aligning the holes "A" of the mounting bracket with the dimples on the front bumper cover, mark the location of the holes "B" on the front bumper cover.

HINT
* Holes "A" are used for installation of the mounting bracket to the bumper cover.
* Holes "B" are used for installation of the front license plate to the mounting bracket.

(2) Put an 11 mm (0.433 in.) drill bit into a drill.

(3) Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 10 mm (0.394 in.) from the tip of the drill, as shown in the illustration.

(4) Make 2 holes in the bumper cover at the locations shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Do not drill at dimples on the front bumper cover.

HINT
Remove all burrs created when making the holes.

(b) Install the mounting bracket with the 2 screws.

6. INSTALL LOWER RADIATOR GRILLE MOULDING

(a) Attach the 9 claws to install the lower radiator grille moulding.

7. INSTALL CENTER RADIATOR GRILLE MOULDING LH

(a) Attach the 3 claws to install the center radiator grille moulding.

8. INSTALL CENTER RADIATOR GRILLE MOULDING RH

HINT
Use the procedure described for the LH side.

9. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER BAR

(a) Clean the lower No. 2 radiator grille surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the lower No. 2 radiator grille surface.

Standard:

NOTICE:
Do not heat the lower No. 2 radiator grille excessively.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the lower No. 2 radiator grille.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) If reusing the bumper bar, clean the bumper bar.

(1) Remove the double-sided tape from the bumper bar.

(2) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(3) Apply new double-sided tape to the bumper bar.

NOTICE:
Do not heat the lower No. 2 radiator grille and bumper bar excessively.

(2) Remove the peeling paper from the face of the bumper bar.

HINT
After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

(3) Install the bumper bar.

HINT
Press the bumper bar firmly to install it.

10. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 RADIATOR GRILLE

(a) Attach the 6 claws to install the lower No. 2 radiator grille.

(b) Install the 2 screws and 4 bolts.

11. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 BUMPER EXTENSION RETAINER

(a) Install the 2 retainers.

HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

12. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ARM EXTENSION LH

(a) Attach the 3 claws to install the arm extension.

(b) Install the 3 screws and clip.

13. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ARM EXTENSION RH

HINT
Use the procedure described for the LH side.

14. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH

(a) Install the retainer with the 2 screws.

15. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH

HINT
Use the procedure described for the LH side.

16. INSTALL NO. 2 RADIATOR GRILLE EMBLEM (for 2GR-FE)

(a) Attach the claw to install the emblem.

(b) Install the retainer with the 2 screws.

17. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE (OR FRONT PANEL) EMBLEM

(a) Attach the 3 claws to install the emblem.

18. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) for Type A:

(1) Attach the 24 claws and 4 guides to install the radiator grille.

(2) Install the 3 bolts.

(b) for Type B:

(1) Attach the 20 claws and 4 guides to install the radiator grille.

(2) Install the 3 bolts.

19. INSTALL HOOD TO RADIATOR GRILLE SEAL

(a) Clean the bumper cover surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the bumper cover surface.

Standard:

NOTICE:
Do not heat the bumper cover excessively.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the bumper cover.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) Install a new hood to radiator grille seal.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the bumper cover and hood to radiator grille seal.

Standard:

NOTICE:
Do not heat the bumper cover and hood to radiator grille seal excessively.

(2) Attach the 9 clips to install the hood to radiator grille seal.

(3) Install the 4 clips.

(4) Remove the peeling paper from the face of the hood to radiator grille seal.

(5) Attach the double-sided tape on the hood to radiator grille seal to the bumper cover.

HINT
Press the hood to radiator grille seal firmly to install it.
