Disassembly
ENGINE HOOD / DOOR: REAR DOOR: DISASSEMBLY
HINT
* Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
* The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL LH
(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the clip, 5 claws, and remove the panel (with switch).
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Disconnect the switch connectors.
(c) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the power window regulator switch from the panel.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
NOTICE:
Be careful when detaching the claws as the switch may fall and become damaged.
3. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 12 claws and remove the door assist grip cover.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the door inside handle bezel plug.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(c) Remove the 3 screws.
(d) Using a screwdriver, detach the 8 clips, 2 claws and remove the trim.
HINT
* Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
* If the screwdriver cannot reach the clips, pull on the lower trim to remove it.
(e) Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 claws and remove the weatherstrip inner.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
4. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal
5. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle and remove the inside handle.
NOTICE:
Remove the remaining tape on the door.
6. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH
(a) Disconnect each connector and remove the service hole cover.
NOTICE:
Remove the remaining tape on the door.
7. REMOVE REAR DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY LH
8. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN LH
(a) Temporarily install the power window regulator switch.
(b) Fully lower the door glass and remove the glass run.
(c) Remove the power window regulator switch.
9. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Partially remove the rear door weatherstrip.
HINT
It is not necessary to fully remove the rear door weatherstrip. A screw is hidden on the inner side of the rear door weatherstrip.
(b) Remove the screw, 2 bolts and division bar.
NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the bolts and screw as the division bar may fall and become damaged.
10. REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW GLASS LH
(a) Remove the window glass (with weatherstrip) as shown in the illustration.
(b) Remove the quarter window glass weatherstrip.
11. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Separate the lower end of the door glass from the window regulator by sliding it in the direction of the arrow in the illustration.
(b) Remove the glass upward.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the glass.
12. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove the 4 bolts and regulator.
HINT
Remove the window regulator through the service hole.
NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the bolts as the window regulator may fall and become damaged.
13. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Using a T25 "TORX" driver, remove the 3 screws and motor.
NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the screws as the motor may fall and become damaged.
14. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, remove the 3 screws.
NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the bolts as the door lock may fall and become damaged.
(c) Slide the rear door lock downward to disconnect the outside handle frame release plate from the door lock.
(d) Remove the door lock (with cable).
HINT
Remove the door lock through the service hole.
(e) Remove the door lock wiring harness packing from the door lock.
(f) Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and open the 2 covers.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(g) Remove the 2 cables as shown in the illustration.
15. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH
(a) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, loosen the screw and remove the outside handle cover.
16. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the handle by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.
17. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the screw and protector.
NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the screw as the frame may fall and become damaged.
(b) Using pliers, pinch the clip.
NOTICE:
Be sure to remove the outside handle frame together with the clip, as the clip will be damaged if it remains attached to the door panel.
(c) Detach the claw and remove the frame.
HINT
Remove the frame through the service hole.
(d) Remove the outside handle frame release plate.
18. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRONT PAD
(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the pad.
19. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE REAR PAD
(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the pad.
20. REMOVE REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the 3 bolts and door check.
HINT
Remove the door check through the service hole.
21. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH
(a) Using a clip remover, detach the 18 clips and remove the weatherstrip.
HINT
If clips are damaged during removal, replace them.
22. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK CHILD PROTECTION COVER LH
