Front Passenger Side Door Entry Unlock Function Does Not Operate
DOOR LOCK: SMART KEY SYSTEM: Front Passenger Side Door Entry Unlock Function does not Operate
- Front Passenger Side Door Entry Unlock Function does not Operate
DESCRIPTION
When an ID code from the door electrical key oscillator RH matches the ID code from the key, the certification ECU outputs an SEL signal (Lo when output) to the door electrical key oscillator RH, activates the touch sensor located on the backside of the outside door handle, and enters unlock standby mode. When the touch sensor is touched, the door electrical key oscillator RH sends a SENS signal (Lo when output) to the certification ECU and the certification ECU sends an unlock signal to the front passenger side door lock.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream ON.
(c) By following the Techstream screen display, check whether any DTCs are output.
OK:
No DTC output.
C -- Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
B -- Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK MANUAL DOOR UNLOCK OPERATION
(a) Check that all the doors unlock when the door control switch (for manual operation) is turned to UNLOCK.
OK:
All doors can be unlocked with door control switch.
NG -- Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL OPERATION
(a) Check that the wireless door lock and unlock functions operates normally Operation Check.
OK:
Wireless door lock and unlock functions operate normally.
NG -- Go to WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ Smart Key System)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the door courtesy light switch (passenger side).
OK:
On Techstream screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.
NG -- Go to LIGHTING SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LOCK POSITION SWITCH)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the door lock position switch (passenger side).
OK:
On Techstream screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.
NG -- Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SELECT)
(a) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the door electrical key oscillator operates.
OK:
ON (P-Seat Select is ON) appears on screen.
NG -- REPLACE ECU AGGREGATION BOX (CERTIFICATION ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TOUCH SENSOR)
(a) With "P-Seat Select" ON, check the Data List to confirm the operation of the touch sensor.
OK:
When passenger side door touch sensor is set to ON, ON (sensor is touched) appears on screen.
NG -- CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (for Passenger Side)
OK -- Continue to next step.
8. CHECK ECU AGGREGATION BOX (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the ECU aggregation box (certification ECU) with a new or normally functioning one Removal.
(b) Check that the entry unlock function operates normally Operation Check.
OK:
Entry unlock function operates normally.
NG -- REPLACE ECU AGGREGATION BOX (CERTIFICATION ECU)
OK -- END (CERTIFICATION ECU IS DEFECTIVE)
9. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (for Passenger Side)
(a) Measure the voltage of the oscillator.
Standard voltage:
NG -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA)
OK -- REPLACE ECU AGGREGATION BOX (CERTIFICATION ECU)
10. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA)
(a) Disconnect the f2 oscillator connector.
(b) Disconnect the f1 antenna connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
11. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CERTIFICATION ECU - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)
(a) Disconnect the E84 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the f2 oscillator connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (for Passenger Side)
12. REPLACE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (for Passenger Side)
13. Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART Starting - Smart Key System
14. Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM Operation Check
15. Go to WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ Smart Key System) Operation Check
16. Go to LIGHTING SYSTEM Door Courtesy Switch Circuit
17. REPLACE ECU AGGREGATION BOX (CERTIFICATION ECU) Removal
18. REPLACE ECU AGGREGATION BOX (CERTIFICATION ECU) Removal
19. END (CERTIFICATION ECU IS DEFECTIVE)
