Removal





INSTRUMENT PANEL: LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL: REMOVAL

1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT

HINT
All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet codes in the table below.





2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the upper instrument panel Removal.

4. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal

5. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System) Removal

8. REMOVE HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Air Conditioning System) Removal

9. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Twist the shift lever knob in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.





10. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH

(a) Place protective tape shown as the in illustration.





(b) Using a moulding remover, detach the 4 clips and upper panel garnish.

11. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH

(a) Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.





(b) Using a moulding remover, detach the 4 clips and remove the upper panel garnish.

12. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips and 4 claws, and then remove the floor shift position indicator housing.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Disconnect the connector.

13. REMOVE SWITCH BASE

(a) Detach the 2 clips and 2 claws.





(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the switch base.

14. REMOVE CONSOLE CUP HOLDER BOX

(a) Remove the 2 screws.





(b) Detach the 2 clips and remove the cup holder box.

15. REMOVE UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the upper rear console panel.

16. REMOVE CONSOLE REAR END PANEL

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 claws and remove the console rear end panel.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) for AC Power Supply:

(1) Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and 2 clips, and then remove the console rear end panel.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(2) Disconnect the connectors and detach the wire harness clamp.





17. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET COVER INNER RH

(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the instrument panel bracket cover.





18. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET COVER INNER LH

(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the instrument panel bracket cover.





19. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET

(a) Remove the console box carpet.





20. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and detach the wire harness clamp.





(b) Remove the 2 screws and rear console box.





21. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

(a) Remove the 2 screws.





(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 8 claws and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE INSIDE LH Removal

23. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE INSIDE RH Removal

24. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH Removal

25. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH Removal

26. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Detach the 3 claws and remove the instrument panel under cover.





27. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the switch hole base.

28. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX

(a) Remove the screw.





(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 clips and remove the instrument panel box.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

29. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connectors.





NOTICE:
Be sure to release the lock of the connector as shown in the illustration.

(b) Remove the 3 nuts and ECU.

30. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Detach the 3 claws and remove the hood lock control lever.





31. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL

(a) Remove the 4 bolts, 2 screws and 2 clips.





(b) Detach the claws and remove the DLC3.

(c) for Automatic Air Conditioning System:

Disconnect the connector and remove the cooler thermistor hose.

(d) w/ Smart Key System:

Disconnect the connector.

(e) Disconnect the connectors, detach the clamps and remove the lower instrument panel.
