C1281/81 - Master Cylinder Pressure Sensor Output Malfunction (Test Mode DTC)
DESCRIPTION
The master cylinder pressure sensor is built into the VSC actuator.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
When replacing the VSC actuator assembly, perform the zero point calibration Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK BRAKE PEDAL
(a) Check if the brake pedal is spongy.
OK:
The brake pedal is normal.
NG -- BLEED AIR Bleeding
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM TEST MODE PROCEDURE (MASTER CYLINDER PRESSURE SENSOR)
(a) Perform the test mode procedure Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
(b) Check if the test mode procedure (master cylinder pressure sensor) is finished successfully.
Result
B -- REPLACE VSC ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Removal
A -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY
(a) Inspect the brake booster Testing and Inspection.
NG -- REPLACE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. RECONFIRM DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Turn the ignition switch off.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and check if the same DTC is stored in the memory Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
