17. CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR RH

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.





(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

(c) Return the side airbag sensor LH (for rear side) and side airbag sensor RH (for rear side) to their original positions and connect the connectors.

(d) Interchange the rear airbag sensor LH with RH and connect the connectors to them.

(e) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

(f) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(g) Clear the DTCs stored in the memory DTC Check / Clear.

(h) Turn the ignition switch off.

(i) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(j) Check for DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

18. CHECK SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR RH (FOR FRONT SIDE)

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.





(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

(c) Return the rear airbag sensor LH and RH to their original positions and connect the connectors.

(d) Interchange the side airbag sensor LH (for front side) with side airbag sensor RH (for front side) and connect the connectors.

(e) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

(f) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(g) Clear the DTCs stored in the memory DTC Check / Clear.

(h) Turn the ignition switch off.

(i) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(j) Check for DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

19. CHECK FRONT DOOR WIRE RH (OPEN)

(a) Disconnect the front door wire RH connector from the No. 2 floor wire.

SST has already been inserted into connector E.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

20. CHECK FRONT DOOR WIRE RH (SHORT)

(a) Disconnect the front door wire RH connector from the No. 2 floor wire.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE

21. CHECK FRONT DOOR WIRE RH (SHORT TO B+)

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.





(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

(c) Disconnect the front door wire RH connector from the No. 2 floor wire.

(d) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(f) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

22. CHECK FRONT DOOR WIRE RH (SHORT TO GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the front door wire RH connector from the No. 2 floor wire.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

23. CHECK PAST DTC

(a) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(b) Check the past DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

C -- CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR RH

24. CHECK PRESENT DTC

(a) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(b) Check the present DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

B -- CHECK CONNECTORS
A -- Continue to next step.

25. CHECK CONNECTORS

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

(c) Check that the connectors are properly connected to the center airbag sensor assembly, side airbag sensor RH (for rear side) and rear airbag sensor RH.

OK:

The connectors are properly connected.

HINT
If the connectors are not connected securely, reconnect the connectors and proceed to the next inspection.

(d) Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor assembly, side airbag sensor RH (for rear side) and rear airbag sensor RH.

(e) Check that the terminals of connectors are not damaged.

OK:

The terminals are not deformed or damaged.

NG -- REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE
OK -- Continue to next step.

26. CHECK NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE (OPEN)

(a) Using SST, connect terminals 8 (BBP+) and 11 (BBP-) of connector B.





NOTICE:
Do not forcibly insert SST into the terminals of the connector when connecting.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

27. CHECK NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE (SHORT)

(a) Disconnect SST from connector B.

29. CHECK NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE (SHORT TO GROUND)

30. CHECK NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE (OPEN)

(a) Using SST, connect terminals 4 (BCR+) and 3 (BCR-) of connector C.
