U760E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: SHIFT LEVER: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

* for Built-in Type Yaw Rate Sensor: Built-in Type Yaw Rate Sensor
* for Separate Type Yaw Rate Sensor: Separate Type Yaw Rate Sensor
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal

5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

6. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH Removal

7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH Removal

8. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal

10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH Removal

11. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Removal

12. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH Removal

13. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH Removal

14. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal

16. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

17. REMOVE BOX BOTTOM MAT Removal

18. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

19. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal

20. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal

21. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET BRACKET LH Removal

22. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET

(a) Remove the screw and No. 1 console box mounting bracket from the lower shift lever assembly.





23. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT (w/ Rear Register Duct)

(a) Remove the clip and No. 1 console box duct.





24. REMOVE LOWER SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Move the shift lever to N.

(b) Disconnect the end of transmission control cable assembly from the lower shift lever assembly.





(c) Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the lower shift lever assembly.

(d) Disconnect the 3 clamps and 2 connectors.





(e) Remove the 4 bolts and lower shift lever assembly.





25. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER SUPPORT

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and shift lever support.
