Map Light: Testing and Inspection

LIGHTING (INT): PERSONAL LIGHT: INSPECTION

1. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof)





(a) Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 2.

(b) Check that the personal lights operate as specified.

OK:





If the result is not as specified, replace the bulb or map light assembly.

2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof)

(a) Personal light switch operation





(1) Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 7.

(2) Inspect personal light operation while the interior light switch is off.

OK:





If the result is not as specified, replace the bulb or map light assembly.

(b) Interior light switch operation

(1) Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6 and a negative (-) lead to both terminals 1 and 7.

(2) Inspect personal light operation while both of the personal light switches (LH and RH) are off.

OK:





If the result is not as specified, replace the bulb or map light assembly.
