SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

NOTICE:
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

2. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD Removal

3. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH Removal

4. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD UPPER PLATE Removal

5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

8. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH Removal

10. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

11. REMOVE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/o Navigation System) Removal

12. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER WITH BRACKET (w/ Navigation System) Removal

13. REMOVE NO. 1 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE Removal

21. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal

22. REMOVE BOX BOTTOM MAT Removal

23. SEPARATE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY Removal

24. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal

25. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY Removal

26. REMOVE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the power switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Turn back the carpet.

(d) Disconnect the connectors from the airbag ECU assembly as shown in the illustration.





NOTICE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(e) Remove the 3 bolts and airbag ECU assembly.
