WINDOW / GLASS: ROOF WINDOW FIX GLASS: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL ROOF WINDOW UPPER MOULDING

(a) Using a brush or a sponge, apply Primer M to the installation surface of the roof window upper moulding as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
* Do not coat the adhesive with Primer M.
* Do not apply too much primer.
* Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.
* Throw away any leftover primer.

HINT
If an area other than that specified is coated by accident, wipe off the primer with isopropyl alcohol before it dries.

(b) Install a new roof window upper moulding from the rear side of the roof window glass as shown in the illustration.

(c) Cut the roof window upper moulding at the cut positions as shown in the illustration.

2. INSTALL NO. 1 ROOF WINDOW GLASS ADHESIVE DAM

(a) Cut the No. 1 roof window glass adhesive dam as shown in the illustration.

(b) Using a brush or a sponge, apply Primer M to the installation surface of the No. 1 roof window glass adhesive dam as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
* Do not coat the adhesive with Primer M.
* Do not apply too much primer.
* Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.
* Throw away any leftover primer.

HINT
If an area other than that specified is coated by accident, wipe off the primer with a non-residue solvent before it dries.

(c) Install the new No. 1 roof window glass adhesive dam onto the roof window glass as shown in the illustration.

3. INSTALL ROOF WINDOW GLASS

(a) Pass a string under the windshield outside sub moulding as shown in the illustration.

(b) Using a brush or a sponge, apply Primer M to the exposed part of the vehicle body.

CAUTION:
Make sure to use primer M to install the roof window glass made of resin. Failure to do so may cause it to come off.

NOTICE:
* To prevent the glass from breaking at low temperatures, ensure that no primer adheres to the contact surface between the moulding and glass during application.
* Do not apply too much primer M.
* Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.
* Throw away any leftover primer.

HINT
If an area other than that specified is coated by accident, wipe off the primer with a non-residue solvent before it dries.

(d) Apply adhesive to the roof window glass.

Adhesive:

Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or equivalent

(1) Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in the illustration.

Standard Dimension:

(2) Load the sealer gun with cartridge.

(3) Apply adhesive to the roof window glass as shown in the illustration.

Standard Dimension:

(e) Install the roof window glass.

(1) Using suction cups, engage the 2 pins and 4 clips to install the roof window glass.

(2) Lightly press the front surface of the roof window glass to ensure that the roof window glass is securely fit to the roof panel reinforcement.

HINT
Press the roof window glass with a force of 98 N (10 kgf, 22 lbf) or more.

(3) Apply soapy water to the windshield outside sub moulding.

(4) Slowly pull out the string to install the windshield outside sub moulding to the correct position.

(5) Hold the roof window glass using protective tape until applied adhesive becomes hard.

NOTICE:
Do not drive the vehicle within the time described in the table below.

4. INSTALL SUNSHADE HOUSING ASSEMBLY

Installation
