Fluid - Transfer Case: Service and Repair

MF1A TRANSFER / 4WD / AWD: TRANSFER OIL: REPLACEMENT

1. DRAIN TRANSFER OIL

(a) Stop the vehicle in a level place.





(b) Remove the No. 1 transfer case plug and gasket.

(c) Remove the transfer drain plug and gasket, and then drain the transfer oil.

(d) Install a new gasket and the transfer drain plug.

Torque : 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft-lbf)

2. ADD TRANSFER OIL

(a) Add transfer oil surface is within 5 mm (0.196 in.) of the bottom of the No. 1 transfer case plug opening.









(b) Install a new gasket and the No. 1 transfer case plug.

Torque : 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft-lbf)

3. DRIVE TEST

4. INSPECT TRANSFER OIL Testing and Inspection

5. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK
