HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: COMPRESSOR (for 1AR-FE): ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT COMPRESSOR FOR METALLIC SOUND

(a) Check if there is abnormal metallic sound from the A/C compressor (compressor with pulley) when the A/C switch is on and the A/C compressor (compressor with pulley) operates.

If abnormal metallic sound is heard, replace the A/C compressor (compressor with pulley).

2. INSPECT REFRIGERANT PRESSURE

3. INSPECT FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT

(a) Using a gas leak detector, check for leakage of refrigerant.

If there is any leakage, replace the A/C compressor (compressor with pulley).

4. INSPECT A/C COMPRESSOR (COMPRESSOR PULLEY)

(a) Check operation of A/C compressor (compressor with pulley).

(1) Start the engine.

(2) Inspect the A/C compressor (compressor with pulley).





Standard:

The compressor shaft rotates along with the pulley.

If the result is not as specified, replace the A/C compressor (compressor with pulley).
