OVERHAUL







IMPORTANT POINTS - REMOVING
1. REMOVE THE AIR CLEANER ELEMENT
1. Loosen the wing nut and remove the cover assembly.







2. Loosen the wing nut securing the element and remove the element.

IMPORTANT POINTS - INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL THE AIR CLEANER ELEMENT
1. ReInstall the new element in the reverse sequence of removal.

NOTICE: Be sure to use genuine UD element. Do not use an inferior element because it may aspirate dust due to a bad seal or be damaged by excessive tightening.

IMPORTANT POINTS - INSPECTION
1. TO INSPECT THE AIR CLEANER ELEMENT
1. Check the element and gasket, and replace if either is damaged.

NOTICE: If the service indicator signal is red, and if it often becomes red after resetting by pushing the button on the end, replace the element.

2. Remove any dirt or dust on the element by blowing compressed air through the element from inside the element. The compressed air should be at a pressure of 196 to 294 kPa {2 to 3 kg/cm2, 28 to 43 psi}.

CAUTION: When cleaning the element, wear safety glasses or a dust mask for health purposes. Be careful not to inhale dust.

3. Check the rubber seal and hose for breakage and the clips for looseness. If broken , replace it with a new part. If the clips are loose, tighten them.
