Control Pressure

1. Connect pressure gauge (VW 1318 or equivalent) in line from fuel distributor to control pressure regulator with lever in flow through position.
2. Remove electrical connector from control pressure regulator and auxiliary air regulator.
3. Run engine at idle for not more than 1 minute. Control pressure should be as shown in Fig. 2. If not, replace control pressure regulator.
4. Run engine until oil temperature is 50 - 70°C (122-158°F) and connect electrical connection at control pressure regulator and auxiliary air regulator.
5. Run engine until pressure stabilizes. If pressure is not 3.2 - 3.6 bar (48-54 psi), replace control pressure regulator.
