Throttle Full Close Switch: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect throttle switch harness connector.
2. Switch digital multimeter (US 1119 or equivalent) to 200 ohm range.
3. Connect multimeter between terminals of throttle switch connector using adapter jumper from adapter kit No. VAG 1594 or equivalent.
4. Partially open the throttle and slowly return the throttle to the idle position. The meter should indicate continuity when the throttle lever is 0.008 to 0.024 in. (0.20 to 0.60 mm) from the idle stop.
5. Open the throttle slowly. The meter should indicate continuity when the throttle within 8 to 12° from the full throttle stop.
6. If the switch fails either of the above tests, adjust the switch by loosening the mounting screws and moving the switch until the values match. If the switch cannot be adjusted, replace the affected switch.
