Ignition Rotor: Service and Repair

The ignition rotor is glued to the distributor shaft. When the rotor is to be replaced, it can only be removed by destroying it. This is best done by crushing the rotor with pliers.
Caution: Do not hit the rotor. Any sharp impact may damage the distributor shaft or the shaft bearings.
Carefully remove all adhesive residue and rotor bits, being careful to keep debris out of the distributor.
To install a new rotor, use an adhesive such as "Loctite 325 Speed Bonder" or equivalent high temp adhesive to attach it to the distributor shaft
