Follow steps 1 through 5 of ``Ball Joints - Replace'' then continue with the following steps:
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove shock absorber lower retaining nut, do not remove bolt as it is restraining the coil spring, Fig. 2.
3. Position a floor jack under lower control arm and carefully raise control arm to ease tension on the lower shock bolt, remove bolt. Slowly lower jack and remove coil spring. Remove lower control arm bushing bolt and remove control arm, Fig. 2.
4. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure the lower end of spring is seated in the lower control spring depression. Refer to Fig. 2 for torque specifications.
