Automatic Transmission/Transaxle: Application and ID

On 010 & 089 type transaxles, the type I.D. number is located on top of the transmission housing, and the transaxle codes are stamped into the top of the converter housing flange. On 087 type transaxles, the type I.D number is cast into the RH side of the final drive housing, and the transaxle codes are stamped into the top of the converter housing flange and on LH converter housing reinforcement rib. On 090 type transaxles, the transaxle I.D. number is located on top of the final drive housing adjacent to the transmission housing mounting flange, and the transaxle codes are stamped into the LH side of the final drive cover mounting flange.
On all transaxles, the transaxle codes consist of a letter code, followed by the build day, month and year.
