Knock sensor, Part No. 034 905 377A, has been superseded by, Part No. 054 905 377A. The latest knock sensor has gold plated terminals incorporated.
When installing a replacement knock sensor, Part No. 054 905 377A, terminals of the receptacle plug must also be replaced with gold plated terminals, Part No. N 903 352 07, to prevent corrosion.
Work Procedure
Pull back protective boot from receptacle plug and leave on wires.
Cut wires as close as possible to terminals.
Discard housing.
Strip wires and crimp one gold plated terminal, Part No. N 903 352 07, to each wire using crimping tool, Part No. 000 097 003.
Insert terminals into new housing, Part No. 443 906 233, according to wiring diagram.
Pull boot over new housing.
