SUBJECT: PASSAT ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
When checking the on-board diagnosis system with VAG 155 during the pre-delivery inspection and scheduled maintenance intervals, the following procedure is recommended:
^ Connect VAG 1551 and activate rapid data transfer 01
^ Access address codes 01 (Engine Electronics) and 02 (Transmission Electronics) and check fault memories
^ No fault displayed, initiate transmission systems basic setting by accessing code 04
^ Recalibrate system by fully depressing the accelerator pedal to the floor, hold momentarily and release
^ Exit VAG 1551 test procedure and disconnect VAG 1551
^ Fault displayed, repair fault
^ Initiate fault memory cancellation by accessing code 05
^ Initiate transmission systems basic setting by accessing code 04
^ Recalibrate system by fully depressing the accelerator pedal to the floor, hold momentarily and release
^ Disconnect VAG 1551
