Connecting VAG 1551 Scan Tool

Diagnosis, Fault Memory - Passat

VAG Tester 1551, connecting

Requirements
- fuses 15, 18, and 21 OK
- A/C switched OFF
- engine ground connections OK, near ignition distributor, at engine block and the ground strap between the cylinder head and the ignition coil power output stage

- switch OFF ignition
- remove shift lever knob
- remove console cover





- connect VAG 1551 with adaptor cable VAG 1551/1 as follows
- connect black wire to black diagnostic connector 1
- connect white wire to white diagnostic connector 2
- blue wire not used

Display alternately appears as shown:

Note: For additional operating instructions push the HELP key.
If no display appears, check the voltage supply to the tester.
