Technician Safety Information

CAUTION: Observe the following precautions to prevent personal injury as well as possible damage to the ignition system components

- do NOT touch or disconnect ignition wires with the engine running or while cranking
- always switch the ignition OFF before disconnecting or connecting wiring or connectors this also includes test leads and test equipment
- if the engine requires cranking without starting, for example during compression testing, disconnect the Hall sender harness connector at the ignition distributor
- do NOT connect a condenser of any kind to terminal 1 (-) of the ignition coil
- do NOT replace the distributor rotor (marked R1) with a different type
- when installing noise. suppressors,ONLY use 1000 Ohms for high tension wires and 5000 Ohms for spark plug connectors
