Differential Assembly: Service and Repair
The oil level for the
final drive gear is checked with the transmission installed.
1.
Remove speedometer driveshaft from transmission and wipe clean.
2.
Install driveshaft into transmission, then remove and check oil level on shaft.
3.
Oil level must be between minimum and maximum marks on the shaft. If necessary add synthetic gear oil G50 SAE 75W90 or equivalent.
