Scan Tool Connecting



VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST), connecting (1993 m.y.)


Battery Positive Voltage (B+) OK
Fuse 22 (522) OK
Ground (GND) connections on engine and transmission OK (location: below lower part of intake manifold)

- Unclip cover for Data Link Connectors (DLC) under heating/ventilation controls.
- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST) with VAG 1551/1 adapter harness as follows:






- First connect black connector from VAG 1551/1 adapter harness to black Data Link Connector (DLC).

V.A.G. - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) HELP
1 - Rapid data transfer*
2 - Blink code output*

Indicated on display:
*Operating modes 1 and 2 are displayed alternately.

Note: If no display appears, do not connect the white connector In this case, check the voltage supply for the VA 1551 Scan Tool (ST)

- Connect white connector from VAG 1551/1 adapter harness to white Data Link Connector (blue connector is not used).
