Ignition Coil Wire: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove coil wire.
2. Check wire visually for cracks, rub marks, oil saturation and corrosion at terminals. Replace if needed.
3. Measure overall resistance of wire. Reading should be between:

1600 - 2400 ohms

If reading is correct, coil wire is good, move to step 4.
If reading is incorrect, measure resistance at the two connectors. Reading should be between:

800 - 1200 ohms

If reading is incorrect, replace and retest with new connector(s).
If reading is correct, replace and retest with new wire.
4. Reinstall coil wire.
