Heater Core Temperature Sensor / Switch: Testing and Inspection
Heater-time Temperature Control Switch -E13- Operation/function
1 - Heater-time temperature control switch -E13-
NOTE:
- When auxiliary heater is started, it operates at full heating capacity
- After the glow plug shuts OFF, heating is regulated according to setting of temperature control switch
- If inside temperature is lower than the selected temperature, heater will operate at 100% capacity
- If inside temperature exceeds the selected temperature, transfer fuel pump -G23- is switched OFF
- Once inside temperature has been cooled below the selected temperature, the fuel pump -G23- is switched ON again
2 - Heater/heat output switch -E16-
Switch position Function
Left Fresh air
Middle off
Right Heated air
3 - Heater ON light -K89-, green
Indicates heater is ON
Goes out during after run
Varies in brightness: Bright - full heating power Faint - low heating power, fresh air mode
4 - Heater malfunction light -K88- red
Flashes to indicate that the maximum heated air temperature has been exceeded, and the heater will switch OFF
Heater can be switched back ON again (after malfunction corrected) by briefly switching the heater blower switch -E16- OFF and ON again
