Spark Plug: Service and Repair





Spark plugs, replacing

Special tools required






Spark plug wrench 3122B






Spark plug connector tool 110029






Torque wrench VAG 1331 (5 to 50 Nm)


Engine code(s) AEG, AVH, AZG






- Pry out plugs -arrows- and remove nuts underneath.
- Remove nut -1-.
- Pull out oil dipstick.
- Remove engine cover.






- Pull off spark plug connector -arrows- using tool T10029.







- Remove spark plug using 3122B spark plug wrench -arrow-.


- Install spark plugs with spark plug wrench.
- Install spark plug connectors using tool 110029.
- Check that ignition wiring and spark plug connectors are seated securely.
- Install engine compartment cover.
