Work Procedure

This procedure describes re-programming the engine control module (ECM) and, if necessary, replacing the front oxygen sensor. However, some affected vehicles may not require re-programming of the ECM, which will be made apparent during the checking process.

- VAS 5051 / 6 diagnostic cable harness
- VAG 1788/10 engine speed adjuster
- 3337 tool





- VAS 6103 serial port cable supplied by VWC





- CD ROM containing re-programming information (part number 1J0 909 961) supplied by VWC
