Connecting VAG 1551/1552 Scan Tool

VAG 1551/1552 Scan Tool (ST)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items needed

- VAG 1551 or VAG 1552 tester (VAG 1552 does not have print function)
- VAS 1551/3B adapter cable

VAG 1551/1552, connecting







- With ignition switched off, connect VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST) with VAG1551/3B cable to Data Link Connector (DLC).


NOTE:
- If nothing is indicated on display, check voltage supply for VAG 1551 scan tool according to wiring diagram.
- Depending on the program, additional operating information can be printed out by pressing the HELP button of the VAG1551 scan tool.
- Function 00 "Automatic test sequence" can be performed in operating mode 1 "Rapid data transfer". This automatically checks all control modules installed in the vehicle.
- The -> button is used for advancing through the program sequence.
- The PRINT button is used for switching on the printer (lamp in button lights up).


- Switch on ignition.

2- Blink code output*


* Two operating modes are displayed alternately

- Operate scan tool according to indications on display:
- Press button 1 to select "Rapid data transfer" operating mode 1.
- Continue On Board Diagnostic (OBD) of the vehicle system to be tested as described under "On Board Diagnostic (OBD), initiating" See table of contents
