Compressor Clutch: Testing and Inspection

Clutch plate, checking/adjusting clearance






- With compressor grounded, repeatedly apply 12V to clutch coil terminal connection.
- Measure clearance between clutch plate and pulley around entire circumference.
- Specification: 0.4......0.8 mm

NOTE:
- Clearance must be within tolerance around entire circumference.
- If clearance is outside the allowable tolerance, remove clutch plate and adjust clearance by removing or installing shims.
