- Connect VAG 1551 scan tool. Refer to "Selectable Functions When Using VAG 1551", under "Restraint Systems", Scan Tool Connecting and Initial Checks
- Initiate Rear spoiler On Board Diagnostic (OBD). Rear Spoiler On Board Diagnostic (OBD), Initiating Program
- Press buttons -0- and -1- to select "Control module version" address word 01.

- 1C0 959 733 B = Part No, of control module (for update control module version = parts catalog)
- Rear spoiler = system designation
- 0002 = software version number

- Press -> button.
