Adapting components and functions

Special tools and equipment





- VAS 5051 Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System
- Diagnostic cable VAS 5051/1 or VAS 5051/3

- Connect Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 as follows:






- Plug connector of diagnosis cable VAS 5051/1 or VAS 5051/3 to Data Link Connector (DLC)(arrow).

- Switch tester on (arrow).
- Switch ignition on.
- Touch key on screen for: Guided Fault finding.
- Select one after another:

- Confirm data as entered:

The tester is operationally ready when a picture (photograph) of a vehicle appears on the display.

Note: Wait until the tester has read all the available control modules (vehicle
system test).

After all control modules have been interrogated:
- Press "Go to" button.
- Select "Function/component selection".
- Press "Drive (Repair group. 01;10...26; 28...39)".
- Choose corresponding engine code.
- Select "01-Systems capable of self-diagnosis"
- Select "engine management system".
- Under "Function" or "Electrical components", select function or component to be adapted.
