Air Injection Control Valve: Service and Repair

Combination valve, removing and installing
Special tools and equipment





- V.A.G. 1331 Torque wrench (5.50 Nm)

Removing
- Remove engine cover.
- Remove intake manifold upper part
- Disconnect pressure hose from combination valve.
- Remove middle insulation tray
- Unbolt heat shield for right-hand drive axle.
- Unbolt lower support of combination valve connecting pipe to exhaust manifold.
- Unbolt upper support of combination valve connecting pipe to exhaust manifold and remove pipe.
- Depending on version disconnect Heated Oxygen Sensor (H02S) -G39-.
- Remove warm air collector plate with combination valve.





- Guide a 5 mm hex socket head bolt into holes -3- of warm air collector plate -1- and remove bolts -4- for combination valve -2-.
- Remove combination valve.

Installing

Note:
^ Thoroughly clean contact surfaces between combination valve and warm air collector.
^ Replace seal

Installation is carried out in reverse sequence of removal.
