Diagnostic Procedures

Transmission Control Module, Replacing

Check control module identification of the previous Transmission Control Module (TCM) as follows:

- Connect diagnostic tester.

- Switch ignition on.

- Under address word 33, select "Diagnostic mode 9: vehicle information".

- Select the vehicle information "Test-ID 04: Calibration Identification ".

Control module identification will be indicated, e.g.:

09G927750 L 0301

- End diagnosis and switch ignition off.

Transmission Control Module (TCM) is located in front right, below passenger seat.

- Disengage connector - A - from control module and then disconnect it.





- Remove old control module and insert new one.

- Check whether new control module identification matches the old control module identification.

- Code the Transmission Control Module (TCM):

Final Procedures

After the repair work, the following work steps must be performed in the following sequence:

1. Check the DTC memory. Refer to --> [ Diagnostic Mode 03 - Read DTC Memory ] Diagnostic Modes 01 - 09.

2. If necessary, erase the DTC memory. Refer to --> [ Diagnostic Mode 04 - Erase DTC Memory ] Diagnostic Modes 01 - 09.

3. If the DTC memory was erased, generate readiness code. Refer to --> [ Readiness Code ] Monitors, Trips, Drive Cycles and Readiness Codes.
