Immobilizer, 7-Digit PINs beginning with 0 are Not Accepted by Control Modules

Model(s):
All with Immobilizer --> 2005

Condition

When attempting to input a 7 - digit PIN beginning with 0 in Adaptation Channel 50 in the Engine Control Module or Instrument Cluster, the PIN is not accepted by Immobilizer.

VAS 5051/5052 with diagnostic tester software V.07.00 and V.07.53 do not correctly communicate with control modules for Volkswagen 7-digit PINs.

Error messages may include:

^ "Function not available", "PIN is no longer valid" or "Function is unknown".

Service

VAS 5051/5052 tester software is being revised and will be distributed as soon as possible.

Until revised software is available, DO NOT reinstall old software:

- Contact Volkswagen Dealer Technician's Helpline. A 4-digit PIN will be supplied to complete the repair.

Note:

^ Even though current Tester software is causing concerns at this time, It is important to use the cuffent update. Please remember the following:

^ Geko functions hinge on this software as well

^ Any concerns regarding this condition are far outweighed by improvements included in the update.
