Ignition Lock Solenoid: Service and Repair



Removing And Installing Ignition Key Removal Lock Solenoid N334

Ignition Key Removal Lock Solenoid N334 is installed next to the ignition/starter switch.

NOTE: To remove ignition key in vehicles with automatic transmission, always shift selector lever into position "P" and then switch off ignition. Otherwise, Ignition Key Removal Lock Solenoid N334 prevents ignition key from being removed.

Removing:
- Remove Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527.







- Release lock - 2 - using a suitable screwdriver.
- Pull Ignition Key Removal Lock Solenoid N334 - 1 - in direction of arrow from mounting.
- The electrical connection is automatically disconnected upon removal.

Installing:
- Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following.

NOTE: After reconnecting battery, perform output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) to activate the Ignition Key Removal Lock Solenoid N334.
