Scan Tool Testing and Procedures



VAS 5051 / 5052, Connecting And Selecting Functions

WARNING: Always read, understand and follow Scan Tool (ST) and Test Equipment safety precautions

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items







- VAS 5051 Vehicle Diagnostic Testing and Information System
- Optional: VAS 5052 Vehicle Diagnostic and Service System







- Diagnosis cable of appropriate length. Example:
- VAS 5051/5A (3 meter)
- VAS 5051/6A (5 meter)
- VAS 5052/3

Connecting

CAUTION:
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Switch off ignition.
- Engage handbrake.
- Automatic transmission lever position "P" or "N".







- Open cover for Data Link Connector (DLC) -1- below lower left instrument panel.







- Connect VAS 5051 (illustrated) or VAS 5052 tester to DLC using adapter cable.
- Switch on ignition.
- Choose operating mode and follow procedure as instructed.
- Follow tester prompts.
