Removal and Replacement






Throttle Valve Control Module (J338)

Removing

- Remove the engine cover/upper air filter housing. Refer to => [ Engine Cover/Upper Air Filter Housing ] Engine Cover/Upper Air Filter Housing.

GTI:

- Remove the pipe - A - and hose - B - - arrows -.






Continuation for all Vehicles:

- Loosen the hose clamp - 1 -.






- Remove the bolt - 2 -.

- Remove the noise insulation.

- Disconnect the connector - 3 -.

- Remove the bolt - 4 -, pull the charge air pipe off the charge air cooler and remove it downward.

- Remove the four bolts for the throttle valve control module (J338) and remove it.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- If a new throttle valve control module was installed, adapt the Engine Control Module (ECM) to the throttle valve control module. Refer to "Guided Functions" in the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
