Throttle Valve Control Module, Cleaning

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Acetone

• Observe the safety precautions. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Safety Precautions.

• Observe the rules for cleanliness. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.

• The throttle valve connections must not be damaged when cleaning.

Procedure

- Remove the throttle valve control module. Refer to => [ Throttle Valve Control Module ] Removal and Replacement.

- Open throttle valve by hand and hold it in the open position using a suitable object - arrow -.





CAUTION!
Acetone is easily flammable. Observe accident prevention measures and safety information when working with flammable fluids. Do not used compressed air when the cleaning throttle valve. Wear protective goggles and protective clothing to prevent injuries and contact with skin.

- Clean the throttle valve, especially in the areas of a closed throttle valve, with standard acetone and a brush.





- Wipe the throttle valve with a lint free cloth.

- Allow the acetone to dry completely and reinstall the cleaned throttle valve control module.

- If required, adapt a new Engine Control Module (ECM) to the throttle valve control module. Refer to "Guided Functions" in the vehicle diagnostic tester.
