A/C Refrigerant System, Servicing



General Information

NOTE:
- General A/C refrigerant system servicing procedures (e.g., component/system descriptions, extracting refrigerant, recharging, leak detection, troubleshooting etc.), repair and special tool information.
- Before carrying out any work on the A/C refrigerant system, refer to all CAUTIONS and WARNINGS in A/C refrigerant system safety measures.
- Evacuate refrigerant circuit using refrigerant recycling/recovery unit Kent-Moore ACR4 (or UL approved equivalent).
- Always plug open refrigerant line connections to prevent dirt and moisture contamination.
- Color coding of O-rings for the R134a refrigerant circuits has been discontinued. Both colored and black O-rings are used.
- Threaded connections of refrigerant circuit must be coated with polyethylene glycol (PEG) VW material no. 294440 before installing.
- Under certain conditions, fluid reservoir with dryer cartridge does not require replacement after the refrigerant circuit is opened. To confirm.
