Engine, Securing on Assembly Stand

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Lifting tackle (3033)

• Shop crane (VAS 6100)

• Engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095)

• Engine mount (T03001)

• Transport strap (T03002)

For performing work, secure engine using Lateral Engine Bracket (T03001) to Engine and Transmission Holder (VAS 6095).

- Remove the transmission

- Pull off clamp - 1 - for wiring harness, remove bolts - 3 - and remove cover plate - 2 -.





- Disconnect harness connectors - 1 - and - 2 - and remove bracket - 3 - - arrow -.





- Install transport strap (T03002) as depicted.





Pin - 1 - engages in cylinder block. Tighten knurled bolt - 2 - hand-tight.

- Install holding fixture (T03001).





Tighten bolts - 1 - and - 3 - to 40 Nm, bolt - 2 - to 25 Nm.

• Bolts are designed so that they cannot be lost.

• When removing, holding fixture (T03001) must be held at tension in direction of withdrawal, otherwise the bolt - 1 - cannot be removed.

- Engage engine sling (3033) as depicted and lift out using workshop crane (VAS 6100) from Engine And Transmission Holder (V.A.G 1383 A).





- Secure engine on Engine and Transmission Holder ( VAS 6095).
