Steering Wheel Control Module, Fault Code 02071 014 in Fault Memory

The fault code 02071 014 "Local data bus defective" is found in 16 - Steering Column Electronics Module while retrieving fault codes.

Technical Background

Battery voltage is incorrectly monitored by the steering column electronics module while in diagnostic mode. The following control modules are affected:

- 3C0 953 549 AH

- 3C0 953 549 AJ

- 3C0 953 549 AK

Not applicable.

Service

If fault code 02071 014 is only stored in 16 - Steering Column Electronics Module AND there are no customer complaints in regards to steering wheel controls, the fault should be ignored and deleted on exiting Guided Fault Finding.
