Clutch System, Bleeding

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Brake charger/bleeder unit ( VAS 5234) or

• Pre-filling the system is not necessary!

- Remove complete air filter housing.

- Connect Brake charger/bleeder unit ( VAS 5234 ).

If necessary, use bleeder hose (670 mm long) (V.A.G 1238/B3) for bleeding.

- Connect bleeder hose with collector bottle of brake bleeder unit.

- Connect bleeder hose to crankcase breather - arrow -.





- Charge system to a pressure of 2 bar.

- Open bleeder valve.

- Bleed approximately 100 cm3 of brake fluid.

- Close bleeder valve.

- Operate pedal quickly from stop to stop 10 to 15 times.

- Open bleeder valve.

- Bleed another 50 cm 3 of brake fluid.

- Close bleeder valve.

- Depress clutch pedal several times after completion of bleeding process.

- Install complete air filter housing.
