Fuel Level Sending Unit and Sensor

Removing






- Remove the fuel pump module. Refer to => [ Fuel Pump Module ] Service and Repair.

• Mark the position of the fuel level sensor on the fuel pump module housing (2) prior to removing. The correct position of the wires are critical to proper operation of the fuel level sensor. Mark the position of the wires prior to removing.

- Using a terminal removal tool, remove the negative wire (3) from the fuel level sensor.

- Remove the positive wire (4) from the fuel level sensor.

- Disengage the fuel level sensor tabs (1) and remove the sensor from the fuel pump module housing (2).

Installing






• Correctly position the fuel level sensor to the fuel pump module housing, using the marks made during the removal procedure. Correctly install the positive and negative electrical wire to the fuel level sensor.

- Correctly position and install the fuel level sensor to housing (2) ensure that the tabs (1) are engaged. Press down in order to lock the fuel level sensor into place on the fuel pump module.

- Install the positive wire (4) to the fuel level sensor.

- Install the negative wire (3) to the fuel level sensor.

- Install the fuel pump module. Refer to => [ Fuel Pump Module ] Service and Repair.
