Antitheft Motion Sensor: Service and Repair

Anti-Theft Alarm System Sensor (G578), from MY 10

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

• The anti-theft alarm system sensor includes the vehicle inclination sensor (G384) and the interior monitoring sensor (G273) (two sensors).

• The anti-theft alarm system sensor cannot be disassembled.


• Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

• Remove the key.

• When removing and installing components in visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), cover by taping the areas at which a prying tool ( (VAS 3409) , screwdriver) will be positioned using commercially available adhesive tape.

Removal

- Remove the front interior lamp (W1).

• Vehicles with a sunroof, refer to => [ Front Interior Lamp ] Front Interior Lamp (W1).

• Vehicles without a sunroof, refer to => [ Front Interior Lamp ] Front Interior Lamp (W1).

- Remove the screws - arrows A -, release the tabs - arrows B - and remove the bracket from the headliner in - direction of arrow C -.






- Disconnect the connector - 2 - from the interior monitoring transceiver module 1 (G303) - 1 -.






- Release interior monitoring transceiver module 1 - 1 - at the tab - arrow -.

- Release the tabs and remove interior monitoring transceiver module 1 from the headliner.






Installation

Install in reverse order of removal.
